Isaiah, Our Sunshine (rough draft)

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a very special story with you today, a story about my amazing son, Isaiah. It's a story of courage, strength, and the incredible love that surrounds him. I've even put it together in a way that could be a little children's book, to help him and others understand his journey.

Isaiah, Our Sunshine

This is Isaiah! He is my sunshine, my joy. He loves to run super-fast, build tall LEGO castles, play basketball with a big smile, and laugh so hard his tummy wiggles! He has always been a happy and busy boy, full of fun. We live here in Florida, and he fills our home with so much love.

When Things Felt a Little Different

But then, sometimes Isaiah felt more tired than usual. Maybe his head would hurt a little bit, or his walk felt a little wobbly, like he was on a boat. It was like something tiny was making him feel not quite himself. As his mom, it was hard to see my bouncy Isaiah not bouncing.

Visiting the Kind Helpers

I took Isaiah to see some very kind doctors. They were like detectives, trying to figure out how to help Isaiah feel his best again. Little brother Jaiyden came too, and we all went together, holding hands for support.

Finding the Tiny Trouble

The doctors used special tools, like super-powered flashlights and picture machines, and they found a tiny little something in Isaiah's brain. They called it a tumor, but we decided to call it "Tiny Trouble" – something that needed our help to get better.

Our Plan for Isaiah

The doctors came up with a special plan to help Isaiah get rid of this "Tiny Trouble" so he can go back to running and playing! It might involve special medicine, or visits to the hospital where everyone is very caring and wants to help him get stronger.

Isaiah's Brave Hospital Journey

Sometimes, Isaiah had to stay at the hospital. It was a special place where doctors and nurses were like superheroes helping kids feel better. I stayed with him, reading exciting stories and giving lots of warm cuddles.

Little brother Jaiyden comes to visit.

Little brother Jaiyden came to visit. He would bring colorful drawings of zooming rockets and tell silly jokes. He always knew how to make Isaiah smile, even on days that felt a little tough. It was very important to Isaiah when family came to see him. Family helped him fight off "Tiny Trouble.”

Lots of medication and hospital Visits

Taking medicine wasn't always easy, but Isaiah was so brave! He knew it was helping his body fight the "Tiny Trouble" and get stronger every day. He even got cool stickers for being so courageous!

Love and Strength

Through it all, Isaiah had so much love from Jaiyden and me. Isaiah gave the best, warmest hugs and made sure I felt safe and loved too. Our love was like a warm, comforting blanket that kept him feeling strong inside

Getting Stronger Every Day

Little by little, Isaiah started to feel his energy coming back! He could play longer, his head didn't hurt as much, and his wobbly walk became steady again. Isaiah was fighting "Tiny Trouble" as hard as he could.

Our Super Brave Isaiah!

Isaiah had cancer, a very serious sickness. The doctors and nurses did their best to help him, but his body became very tired and couldn't fight anymore.

God called home his angel

Isaiah fought "Tiny Trouble" with all his might, like a brave knight. Even though his body became very tired and couldn't fight anymore, the love and light he brought into the world will always shine brightly. He taught us how to be strong and never give up. Now, when we look up at the twinkling stars, we remember our super brave Isaiah, who is now a bright star watching over us, always in our hearts.

Our Love for Isaiah

We are so incredibly proud of you, our amazing Isaiah. You are our Angel! We love you more than all the stars in the universe.

Love, Mom

Finding Grace in the Kitchen: Cooking Through Grief and Remembering Isaiah

After my son, Isaiah, passed away from brain cancer, words simply vanished. I was stuck in a profound silence, I was unable to articulate the storm of emotions raging within me. In that stillness, cooking became my refuge, the only way I could communicate the love that overflowed when words failed. It became a way to remember him, to channel my grief into something nurturing.  After my son, Isaiah, passed away from brain cancer, words simply vanished. I was stuck in a profound silence, unable to articulate the storm of emotions raging within me. In that stillness, cooking became my refuge, the only way I could communicate the love that overflowed when words failed. It became a way to remember him, to channel my grief into something nurturing. For years, I allowed myself to get caught up in past choices, fixating on what I could have done better. Hindsight makes it so easy to criticize our younger selves for what they didn't know. But I've come to realize the vital importance of...

Gracefully Broken

Gracefully Broken Hi, I'm Marielle Davis. I'm 45, living here in Florida. For 18 years, I've been blogging, spilling pieces of my life online, across all sorts of platforms. It's always been about… well, my life. What I'm going through, what I've been through. Trials, wins, the hard stuff, the feelings, the real-life mess of it all. I don't know if my life is 'normal' or not. All I know is, you live, and you have to change, you have to keep going. Giving up? Never an option. NEGU There’s this weird thing, this feeling, this voice inside. Growing up, I was told it was God. And even now, I haven't lost my faith. I still believe. It's just... different. My understanding has shifted. That's a story for another time. Staying on track is my biggest problem. For a year, I've tried to pull all my stories, all my blogs, and make sense of them, make them me. I know I have a story. I know there are people out there who feel like they don't...
